I love a good sports movie. Especially one that centers on basketball. At the same time, I hate bad sports movies with the passion of a thousand burning suns. My only hard rule for a sports film is, whatever sport you choose, make sure you are showing the sport being played properly and well.

This is a bad sports movie.

I found nothing of value in this film. The dialogue is choppy and cringe-worthy, the basketball looks like it is being played by a bunch of actors, and there are major plot holes everywhere. The main character is totally unlikeable, his nemesis is useless, and his character arc looks more like a cliff.

I was annoyed less than 5 minutes into the movie, and I was completely done with it about 20 minutes in. But I still forced myself to endure the remaining time just to make sure it didn't redeem itself.

Spoiler alert: It didn't.

There is a very good chance this flick will make my 10 Worst list at the end of the year. So far, it's going to take 10 movies worse than this to knock it off the list.
